Kimberlee L. Gunning
Kimberlee Gunning is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on complex litigation and appeals in state and federal courts encompassing a wide range of subject matters, including business litigation, torts, consumer protection, trademark, employment, and civil rights. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants, ranging from high-profile companies to start-ups, non-profit organizations, and individuals.
Kim has been named a “Rising Star” by Washington Super Lawyers magazine. She is a past recipient of the President’s Award from the King County Bar Association, as a member of the litigation team representing the State of Washington in a landmark case on sexual orientation discrimination, State v. Arlene’s Flowers.
Before joining Goldfarb & Huck Roth Riojas, PLLC, Kim was a litigator at a boutique firm representing technology and media companies (Focal PLLC), a nationally-recognized plaintiffs firm (Terrell Marshall), a commercial litigation firm (Tousley Brain Stephens), and a civil legal aid organization (Columbia Legal Services). Kim also served as an assistant attorney general in the Consumer Protection Division of the Washington Attorney General’s Office. Kim is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Law, Rutgers University (M.A.), and Macalester College (B.A., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa).
Kim serves on the Employment Advisory Council of What’s Next Washington. She was also past Board President of the QLaw Foundation of Washington. As a volunteer, she has drafted several amicus briefs on behalf of non-profit organizations, including the ACLU of Washington, the Tenants Union of Washington, and the Northwest Consumer Law Center.
Kim is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Washington, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
